Sterile Processing Technician

Tower Surgical Partners (TSP) is a management company specializing in the unique needs of minimally invasive surgery centers and physician practices. TSP partners with physicians to expand existing and develop future surgical centers for long-term growth. TSP is seeking the services of an experienced Sterile Processing Technician. TSP is a comprehensive Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) management company with experts in site development/acquisition, legal, finance, state accreditation, policies, and operations. TSP works closely with its clinical partners to provide access for patients to the highest quality GYN surgical services available. They have developed new procedural technology including DualPortGYN and LAAM procedures allowing major GYN surgical procedures to be performed in an outpatient ASC setting. The Sterile Processing Technician will perform and participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.       Responsibilities • Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment, and assembles, wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas • Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment • Sorts mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment and makes them available in a timely manner • Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, collects and distributes instruments, trays, and facility medical equipment • Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas • Verifies that equipment functions properly, works with management to arrange for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and removes defective equipment • Maintains a clean work area • Assists with maintaining established organizational policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.     Requirements • Sterile Processing Technician Certification through CBSPD or IAHCSMM (preferred) • 3 or more years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician • Preference may be given for experience in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly • Excellent interpersonal skills • Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are needed • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods • Frequently walk and reach (overhead, extensive, repetitive) • Must have the ability to lift/push/pull greater than 50 pounds
