Tower Surgical Partners (TSP) was founded in 2015 to meet the need presented by physicians wanting to ensure the highest level of quality for the surgical experience of their patients by developing their own ambulatory surgery center. Physician partners benefit from our company’s experience in facility development and management. Based in Rockville, Maryland, our experience and dedication empower us to professionally manage the needs and values of our partners.
The TSP leadership team are industry experts with a successful track record of development and management. TSP handles all aspects of establishing and maintaining a surgical facility from physician recruitment, initial licensure, design and construction oversight to operational and financial management. TSP and our partners each play an important role in a successful surgery center and we believe that in order to sustain the long-term viability of the surgical facility, it is best that the physicians have a vested interest. This model preserves the incentive for both the physicians and TSP to ensure the success of each center.
Meet Emily Dodson, MarketingEmily joined Tower Surgical Partners in 2015. Her experience with strategic brand development expanded efforts to directly reach patients in need of groundbreaking minimally invasive GYN techniques. Emily leads a dynamic and effective marketing team that actively promotes patient education, and unites like-minded organizations for the benefit of the patient and their care.
The marketing program has rapidly expanded, bringing a redesigned interactive website complete with videos, testimonials and a robust patient focused blog. The team takes a 360 approach to marketing, to ensure patients from around the world have access to top physicians and services.
Emily’s global brand experience at companies like Camuto Group, Gilt Groupe, and United Colors of Benetton, whet her appetite for expansion and continuous growth. She looks forward to seeing Tower Surgical Partners develop across multiple states, bringing women the highest level of surgical care. Emily graduated from The University of Michigan, and recently returned to Maryland after over a decade spent in NYC. She now lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and sons.
Meet Louise van der Does, Ph.D., ResearchDr. van der Does leads a team in conducting original research for Tower Surgical Partners. She has over 15 years of experience as a researcher and statistical analyst. Her methodological research focuses on developing innovative statistical approaches, and productive partnerships between clinicians, researchers, and patients.
Outside academia, Dr. van der Does has held several Research Director positions. As the Director of Research at Fight Crime; Invest in Kids, she evaluated studies on the long-term crime prevention impact of investments in children and synthesized the data in well-publicized reports for policy makers. At the Department of Homeland Security, she synthesized data from multiple sources for prosecutorial efforts and was twice honored for Outstanding Service in the Public Sector.
She holds a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis, with a concentration in Statistics, and a Master of Science in Justice, Law and Society, both from American University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
Meet Randy Hagen, Business Operations and DevelopmentRandy Hagen has over 18 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. He holds a Doctorate in Health Sciences with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Behavior, a Master’s in Business Administration, and an undergraduate degree in Accounting. Dr. Hagen is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE), a Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator maintaining the CASC credential, and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He was awarded the Becker’s ASC Review National Award, Rising Star: 40 ASC Industry Leaders 40 years or younger.
Dr. Hagen’s expertise includes executive management, teamwork, strategy formulation, and a record of achievements. Previous positions include a senior management role for a national physicians services company at which he oversaw 500-plus anesthesia providers serving over 40 hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) in the New Jersey market, CEO ASC Management Company, and multiple senior level management positions with national and local healthcare organizations focusing on ASC, physician practice management, and one of the largest PPOs in the country.
Dr. Hagen has been an invited speaker for multiple healthcare organizations including the American Association of Orthopedic Executives, American Association of Physicians of Indian Descent, the Nevada Ambulatory Surgery Association, and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. In addition to his time on the speaking circuit, he is a member of the Atlantic Health System/Chilton Medical Center Foundation Board, and a Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) mentor to its members.
Meet Joseph AlexanderJoseph Alexander joined the TBD Business Development team in 2016 and evaluates all things relating to business expansion. In conjunction with his role developing new TBD surgery centers and surgeon syndication, Joseph organizes market and strategic analyses to refine existing practices and explore new business opportunities. Apart from his Business Development capacity with TBD, Joseph also collaborates with the Marketing team where he produces all sorts of original digital creative and media content.
Prior to joining TBD, Joseph worked for a leading Washington D.C. based public affairs firm where he specialized in financial industry and healthcare advocacy. Joseph earned his B.A. in Politics and Economics from Saint Anselm College, where he graduated with honors. Outside of TBD, Joseph manages his own advocacy group and enjoys spending time outdoors.
